The basic documents and other requirements:
- Application form completely filled in and signed by the applicant.
- Original passport issued within the previous 10 years and valid at least 3 months beyond the end of the intended visit.
- Other persons (minors) covered by one applicant's passport must fill in individual application forms and consequently the individual visa stickers will be affixed in the same travel document, that must contain 2 blank pages per person who wishes to travel to ensure that there is space to affix entry/exit stamps for all visa holders. If minors are travelling with parents‘ passports, their photos attached to parents' passports.
- Photocopy of the bio-data page of passport / pages with previous visas
- The standard visa fee. Please refer to the information given above concerning fee reductions and waivers.
- 1 biometric photo (for further technical requirements of the photo please refer to ICAO recommendations: http://www2.icao.int/en/MRTD/Downloads/Technical%20Reports/Annex_A-Photograph_Guidelines.pdf
- Proof of adequate travel medical insurance covering the entire period of intended stay, valid for all Schengen States and covering any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgency medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during the stay. The minimum coverage must be 30.000 EUR

Who can apply for a Schengen visa in Turkey ?
- Turkish nationals and third-country nationals who are resident in Turkey.
- Third-country nationals legally present but not residing in Turkey, if the applicant provides adequate justification for lodging the application in Turkey.
Which member state is competent for examining and deciding on my visa application ?
The Member State competent for examining and deciding on an application for a uniform visa shall be:
(a) The Member State whose territory constitutes the sole destination of the visit(s).
(b) If the visit includes more than one destination, the Member State whose territory constitutes the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length or purpose of stay.
(c) If more than one Member State can be considered main destination in terms of the length of purpose of stay, any of those Member States
If no main destination can be determined, the Member State whose external border the applicant intends to cross in order to enter the territory of the Member States.
When can an application be logged ?
A visa application should be lodged at least 15 calendar days before the intended visit and cannot be lodged earlier than three months before the start of the intended visit.
It is also recommended that you lodge your visa application taking into account national holidays of the country of destination and Turkey. Please note that during holidays the operation of certain consular services may be reduced.
