21 Made in Holland Baroque Days

The Embassy of the kingdom of The Netherlands and the Dutch Consulate General are proud to present the best baroque orchestras from The Netherlands in Turkey. The ‘Made in Holland Baroque Days’ is a cooperation where authentic Dutch composers from the beginning of the Baroque period are introduced by modern Dutch classical musicians. Three Dutch musicians/music groups in three Turkish cities: Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam, Camerata Trajectina and Pieter Jan Belder will perform in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

22 Message about celebration Kingsday

Every year the Dutch Consulate General in Istanbul proudly organizes its festive King’s Day, attended by many of our dear Turkish, international and Dutch friends and contacts. Unfortunately this year we have to relocate to another location and, as a consequence, and much to my regret, we can only invite a very limited number of guests. This is a one-time situation and I am confident that next year we will be back to normal, Dutch, proud and orange, at the Palais de Hollande.

23 Advisory referendum – reaction Dutch government

On 6 april 2016 an advisory referendum was held in the Netherlands on the EU-association agreement with Ukraine. The preliminary outcome shows that the required threshold for a valid outcome of a turn-out of 30% or more was reached, with a majority of people voting against.

24 Tjerk Ridder and love in Istanbul

On the 16th of February Dutch theatre director and musician Tjerk Ridder will put his new performance "A Slow Ride – Traces of Freedom" on stage. The performance will be part of the Love 360 Festival, which will take place in Istanbul between the 6th and the 29th of February.

Foreign minister Bert Koenders and travel expert Floortje Dessing have launched a new central helpline for travellers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can now be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week at +31 247 247 247 for practical travel tips and assistance. Travellers abroad can also contact the Ministry online and via Twitter. It is estimated that about 3,000 people per day will use the new services.

26 European Commission to visit Amsterdam

The European Commission is visiting Amsterdam to mark the start of the Dutch Presidency of the EU Council. On 7 January 2016 Prime Minister Mark Rutte will receive the members of the European Commission at the National Maritime Museum.
