February 14, 2017 The Global Fundraising Initiative “She decides” is an initiative of Lilianne Ploumen, Netherlands minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. The aim of this Initiative is to join forces in support of the right of women and girls to decide, freely and for themselves, whether, when and how many children they have. “She decides” is not a new institutional mechanism but a way to rally financial support for sexual and reproductive health. “She decides” encompasses contributions by governments, private sector, non-governmental organisations and citizens to ongoing initiatives that improve access to lifesaving contraceptives, family planning and sexuality education.

February 14, 2017 The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) collaborated with the Dutch Innovation Network (IA) and together they wrote a report on Turkish start-ups. Their research shows that Turkey is a breeding ground for high tech startups. However, when the Turkish startups have international ambitions, they are insufficiently supported. The opportunities the Netherlands could offer are also unknown to the start-ups. This can be considered a true loss of opportunities, since Turkey is full of bright young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas waiting for a chance outside the country.
